One Step Forward

By Dean Bongat

Adi Indra, a 4th Year seminarian of Corpus Christi College, studying for the Diocese of Sandhurst made a further step forward toward his ordination to the priesthood. On Saturday 12th of March 2016, he was accepted as candidate to the Diaconate and Priesthood by the Bishop of the Diocese of Sandhurst, Bishop Leslie Tomlinson at St. Brendan’s Parish, Shepparton, Victoria. Though the celebration happened during the regular Saturday 6PM vigil mass of the parish, it turned to a very special occasion with the participation of many individuals.

The celebration was graced by the presence of various visiting priests both from the Diocese of Sandhurst and the Archdiocese of Melbourne. The visiting priests from the Diocese of Sandhurst were Fr. Novelito Lim, assistant parish of St. Patrick’s Parish, Wangarrata, and Fr. Junray Rayna, assistant parish priest of Sacred Heart Church, Wodonga. From the Archdiocese of Melbourne were Fr. Justel Callos, assistant parish priest of St. Fidelis Parish, Moreland and Very Rev. Denis Stanley, senior staff of Corpus Christi College. In addition, the mass was assisted by the seminarians of Corpus Christi College as main altar servers and choir. The celebration went well with so much appreciation from the parishioners in the parish.
