More than 200 people enjoyed an afternoon of shared hospitality at Corpus Christi College’s annual family day on Sunday, March 26.
Family and friends of the seminarians gathered to celebrate Sunday Mass, followed by a BYO lunch on the seminary grounds.
People young and old gathered to enjoy the occasion with an abundance of cuisine from across the world and a sensational array of deserts to go with it.
There were Bunsen burners with hot food sizzling away, as well as Vietnamese, Filipino and Burmese cuisine just to mention a few. Others brought along eskies with sandwiches and fruit to share, while many had prepared delicious deserts to enjoy.
While all this great food was enjoyed, seminarians caught up with friends and family who continue to support us on our vocational journey to the priesthood.
There was a great sense of community and hospitality as this occurred with visitors and seminarians sharing stories, having a laugh or two and sharing their food with one another.
Rector Fr Denis Stanley described the family day occasion as a moment of great joy as everyone gathered for Mass at Sacred Heart Church.
It was great to see the seminary church full as the community gathered to give thanks to God for the gift of our families, both present on the day and those who were unable to be with us.
The seminary community extends its thanks once again to all those who support us and to those who came along on the day.
